Hello Parents and Students!
At tonight’s rehearsal we gave out information for our next fundraising campaign for new uniforms! We are over halfway there and are confident that if we have everyone participate in this last campaign, then we will reach our goal!
This campaign is through a company called “Snap!”. This Platform was created to help the teachers be able to teach, the players be able to play and for YOU to reach out to those who will help your child so you do not have to write 1 big check. Snap! provides an extensive outreach so kids do not have to go door to door anymore!
Please check the two forms that we gave to each student! One of them is for you stating that we are not selling any emails and that these emails are deleted once the campaign is over. The other form is a sheet asking for you and your child to gather 20 emails, in which our campaign will be sent to. Please provide your child with QUALITY emails. Emotional supporters that you know that when they receive a link to your child’s page that they will help donate to them. These should not include other students or teachers.
This Snap! 20 form should be turned by next Friday, December 9th before our meeting with our Snap! representative on the 12th.
At our meeting with the representative, each student will receive their own personal profile, in which they can keep track of each donation that their carefully crafted emails have gathered.
This campaign will only be successful if each student and parent participates to the best of their ability, and it starts with 20 QUALITY emails!
BAND SCHEDULE – WEEK OF: November 28th, 2016
PRIDE Parade Rehearsal
PRIDE Parade Rehearsal
For more information, contact event coordinator Mr. Weaver.
Congratulations on a fantastic Veteran’s Parade performance! Today after the parade you should have all received a form for our upcoming PRIDESGIVING! PRIDESGIVING will take place next Friday, November 18th at 6 p.m. in the SHS lunchroom.
PRIDESGIVING is one of our favorite, more recent band traditions at Southside. Each year, our members, parents, and family gather together to celebrate Thanksgiving with one another before the official break of school. We eat, laugh, and share stories together in order to celebrate our friendships.
We will have turkey and dressing, mac n’ cheese, creamed corn, dessert and sweet T catered by Tony’s catering in Gadsden.
Plates are $10 per person. All PRIDE members, 8th grade marchers, PRIDE alumni, and parents are invited to attend! If you would like to attend, please return the form and money to Mr. Weaver or Ms. Palmer by next Tuesday, November 15th! If you did not receive a form, you may get one from Ms. Palmer.
Please come and share stories of the season!

Wind Ensemble Veteran’s Day Performance at John Jones Elementary
Enjoy the long weekend!
Once again, we wanted to take the time to say Congratulations on a fantastic concert last Tuesday! We thought you all performed to the best of your ability and are excited to jump into Christmas music this week! We would also like that thank all of the family and friends that attended the concert and uniform reveal. Your support to the program is undeniable, and we thank you. Also, thank you to Bain and Kelly Stephens for managing the ticket table!
This is a reminder that all money for concert attire is currently due. That is $60 for the concert dress for ladies and $120 for the full tuxedo for gentlemen. We need the payments made for this concert attire as soon as possible, so we can order and have it in by the Christmas concert on December 9th!
We are looking forward to the recording session today after school and the Veteran’s Day Parade on Wednesday! Full schedule will be coming to you all soon.
Have a great week!
Good evening, parents and students!
Congratulations to our marching 8th graders who just performed in the Etowah County Middle School Honor Band! What an awesome experience!
This coming Monday, November 7th from 3:15-5 will be a professional recording day for “The PRIDE.” This audio recording will be of this year’s show, and other gameday favorites like the Southside fight song, pregame, and “Pink Panther.” We will sell the CD’s as keepsakes for an awesome season!
Students should review their music over the weekend and bring ALL of their music to rehearsal on Monday.
This is a full marching band rehearsal, so all members are expected to be present. Please let us know of any conflicts; however, this date has been on the calendar for a while, so please make your best effort to attend!
Auxiliaries will practice for the parade with their sponsors during the recording on Monday.
Tuesday, November 8th will be a full marching band parade practice from 3:15-5 to prepare for our Veteran’s Day Parade on Wednesday, November 9th.
Please let us know of any questions!
