  1. REPORT TIME: Each game day, students are given a “Report Time”.  This is the call for all members to be seated in the band room with all of their equipment ready to go.  This is not the time to first arrive at the band room.  All members are expected to be seated and ready to participate in our student-led “pregame” activity.  After report time, we will inspect uniforms and load the bus to depart for the game.
  2. UNIFORM CODE / INSPECTIONS: All students are required to be in “uniform” throughout the entire game day.  *This simply means that we all do the same thing, the same way at the same time.  (Ex. We all either have the jackets on, or we all have them off.  If they’re off, they’re all folded the same way.  All auxiliaries will match and follow the guidelines set by their instructors)  All members will be inspected before we leave the band room to make sure they are in compliance with our Uniform Code.  This code can be found online in the Membership Info & Forms packet under the “Members” tab.  Students not in uniform will not be allowed to perform.
  3. WATER JUGS: Students are allowed & encouraged to bring their large, wide-mouthed water jugs to all home and away games.  The only rule is that they must be filled with water prior to our report time.  There is no way to fill them at the stadium.  Bottled water will be provided to students in the stadium throughout the game.
  4. STADIUM PROCEDURES: All members are required to sit together in the band section throughout the entire game.  Non-band members (including parents/boyfriends/girlfriends) are not allowed in the band section.  This includes during the 3rd quarter.  Members do receive a break during the 3rd quarter where we do not play except in the event of a Panther touchdown.  During this break, members will stay in the band section in their assigned seats so that we are ready to play in the event of a touchdown.  Members are not allowed to go to the bathroom until the 3rd quarter outside of an emergency basis.  Students going to the bathroom must be accompanied by a chaperone.
  5. 3rd QUARTER MEALS: Students who purchase a 3rd quarter meal will be called down by section to get their meals once the entire band is back in the stadium.  If parents want to bring their child food from the concession stand, that is fine; but students are not allowed to leave the band section.
  6. CHECKOUTS (Away Games Only): Once the game is over, students will load equipment and the bus to come home.  Parents wishing to checkout their child after the game (away games only) must turn in a signed permission note to the band office no later than Thursday of that week.  Students must load their equipment and make arrangements for their uniform with their section leader.   Parents must sign-out their child in the stadium with Mrs. Payne.  Students are only allowed to checkout with a parent or legal guardian.
  7. DISMISSAL: Students are dismissed as a group from the Bandroom on Friday nights.  Once all of our equipment is stored and checked, and uniforms are hung properly then students will be dismissed.  Students are not allowed to leave as soon as we get back to the high school.  The faster we get everything put away, the faster we all go home.

  1. AUGUST CALENDAR: There is a printable version of our August calendar available online at: http://www.shs-band.com/calendar.html
  2. COKE SALE: We are starting our annual Coke Sale!  Info and order forms online at: http://www.shs-band.com/blog/annual-coca-cola-sale
  3. BIBBERS, SHOES & GLOVES:
Shoe orders came in today and were distributed to students in class.  Bibbers will be in Monday.  If there are any major issues please let the band office know immediately.  Bibbers especially may need to be altered to fit correctly.  Safety pins are fine for picture day, but all pants must be hemmed before our first performance.  Also, when hemming; please make sure that the inseam of the pant fits correctly.  If too much material sags close to the knee, then the bibbers will tear.  Also bear in mind that the bibbers are designed to fit much more closely that most clothes students are used to wearing.

Gloves will go on sale this week.  They are $3 each, and may be bought during rehearsal.
