  1. REPORT TIME: Each game day, students are given a “Report Time”.  This is the call for all members to be seated in the band room with all of their equipment ready to go.  This is not the time to first arrive at the band room.  All members are expected to be seated and ready to participate in our student-led “pregame” activity.  After report time, we will inspect uniforms and load the bus to depart for the game.
  2. UNIFORM CODE / INSPECTIONS: All students are required to be in “uniform” throughout the entire game day.  *This simply means that we all do the same thing, the same way at the same time.  (Ex. We all either have the jackets on, or we all have them off.  If they’re off, they’re all folded the same way.  All auxiliaries will match and follow the guidelines set by their instructors) All members will be inspected before we leave the band room to make sure they are in compliance with our Uniform Code.  This code can be found online in the Membership Info & Forms packet under the “Members” tab.  Students not in uniform will not be allowed to perform.
  3. WATER JUGS: Students are allowed & encouraged to bring their large, wide-mouthed water jugs to all home and away games.  The only rule is that they must be filled with water prior to our report time.  There is no way to fill them at the stadium.  Bottled water will be provided to students in the stadium throughout the game.
  4. STADIUM PROCEDURES: All members are required to sit together in the band section throughout the entire game.  Non-band members (including parents/boyfriends/girlfriends) are not allowed in the band section.  This includes during the 3rd quarter.  Members do receive a break during the 3rd quarter where we do not play except in the event of a Panther touchdown.  During this break, members will stay in the band section in their assigned seats so that we are ready to play in the event of a touchdown.  Members are not allowed to go to the bathroom until the 3rd quarter outside of an emergency basis.  Students going to the bathroom must be accompanied by a chaperone.
  5. 3rd QUARTER MEALS: Students who purchase a 3rd quarter meal will be called down by section to get their meals once the entire band is back in the stadium.  If parents want to bring their child food from the concession stand, that is fine; but students are not allowed to leave the band section.
  6. DISMISSAL: Students are dismissed as a group from the Bandroom on Friday nights.  Once all of our equipment is stored and checked, and uniforms are hung properly then students will be dismissed.  Students are not allowed to leave as soon as we get back to the high school.  The faster we get everything put away, the faster we all go home.

  1. Moe’s of East Gadsden Spirit Night: Be sure to come out to Moe’s in East Gadsden this Saturday and eat to support The PRIDE!  The PMA will receive 20% of proceeds for those customers who mention the band.  The fundraiser will last from 5 pm until close; if possible, it would be very helpful to have some students and parents wearing their band shirts asking customers to support The PRIDE.
  2. Spaghetti Dinner / Fall Concert: Our annual Fall Concert will be held Monday, Oct. 30th at 6pm in the high school auditorium and will feature both the Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble.  This year, we’re also hosting a Spaghetti Dinner at 5pm in the lunchroom before the concert.  Tickets have been sold, but plates will be available for $7.50 at the door.  The PMA is sponsoring a pumpkin-decorating contest as well.  Those who wish to enter a pumpkin should bring their entry to the lunchroom at 4:30.  All entries will be assigned a number and will be voted on during the spaghetti dinner.  Votes are $1 each; the pumpkin with the most votes will be our winner.
  3. Concert Attire: For the Fall Concert, Symphonic Band members are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costumes; the Wind Ensemble will dress in an American theme.  Students will be fitted in class at the end of the month for their formal concert attire (dresses & tux).  More info to come once we have word from our formalwear rep.
  4. Gourmet Meat Sale: On Monday, we will begin a student-sale fundraiser to help students raise money for our Disney Trip & Band Fees.  We will be selling gourmet meats from Southern Heritage Farms in Fairhope, AL. Orders will be due Nov. 14th & arrive the week of December 4th.
  5. Southside @ Glencoe 11-3-17: Last week it was announced that the Glencoe game had been moved to Thursday, Nov. 2; HOWEVER, it has now been moved BACK TO FRIDAY, NOV. 3rd at GLENCOE HS.  We apologize for any confusion; we do not anticipate the game to be rescheduled again.
  6. Wind Ensemble Concert Band “Boot Camp”: To prepare for our AMEA performance, the Wind Ensemble will be hosting a concert band “boot camp” on Saturday, Nov. 18th from 9am to 5pm.  Special guest instructors & clinicians are being brought in to work with our students and lunch will be provided at noon.  We will also have a snack break in the afternoon.  Please be sure to mark your calendars accordingly!  We must have all members in attendance to make this special performance a success.  Congrats again on being selected!
