SOUTHSIDE BAND SCHEDULE Week of February 26, 2018 Happy MPA Week!!!!! 
MON 2/26 TUES 2/27 WED 2/28 Wind Ensemble to perform for senior citizens at Community Center: 10 am *Students will be called out of 1st period to the band room & be bused to the Community Center. We will perform at 10:15. After the concert & a brief reception, we will bus back to the school in time for 5th period. (Odd block day) WE ARE WEARING CONCERT ATTIRE. There will not be much time to change. We suggest coming dressed to school. THURS 3/1 Symphonic Band State MPA: 4:00 pm at Gadsden City HS Auditorium (free & open to public) *Students will be leaving from school. Please have everything you need at school that day. We are leaving at 1:40 pm for GCHS. FRI 3/2 Wind Ensemble State MPA: 6:00 pm at Gadsden City HS Auditorium (free & open to public) * Student report time is 4:30 pm dressed and seated in the band room. IMPORTANT INFORMATION

MON 2/19 President’s Day – No School TUES 2/20 Symphonic Band FULL BAND REHEARSAL (MPA): 3:00 – 5:00 pm WED 2/21 THURS 2/22 MPA Preview Concert / PMA Booster Meeting: 6:00 pm, Biddle Auditorium RMS Intermediate Band on stage at 5:30 Symphonic Band dressed and in band room at 5:30 Wind Ensemble dressed and in band room at 5:00 FRI 2/23 SAT 2/24 1st Ever “Panther Prowl” 5K Run, hosted by The PRIDE Music Association! Wind Ensemble to Perform for Senior Citizens Wednesday, February 28, 2018
To all Wind Ensemble Members & Parents, The Southside Community Center has asked for the Wind Ensemble to perform for our local senior citizens group. This is a wonderful chance for our students to become more engaged in our community and have the opportunity to talk to and learn from our elders. This is going to be a very special concert. The senior citizens are so looking forward to this event! This performance will happen during the school day on Wednesday, February 28th. Students will be required to check into 1st period and stay on their normal schedule until they are called to the band room. Students will not miss much of class, and they will not be considered absent as long as they have checked into school. Please see our schedule below. -Mr. Weaver & Mrs. Hammock  WIND ENSEMBLE SENIOR CITIZEN CONCERT SCHEDULE TUES 2/27: Take percussion equipment, stands & chairs to Southside Community Center.
*Any students who could volunteer to help us set up equipment would be greatly appreciated! WED 2/28: 7:45 am: Report to 1st period as normal to be counted present 9:45 am: Students will called to the band room to load buses / travel to Southside Community Center *There will not be time to change. We will wear concert attire. Students will need to come to school concert-ready. 10:00 am: Senior Citizen devotion group / W.E. unload & gather up in side room. 10:15 am: Performance begins. (We will perform our MPA program) 10:45 am: Brief reception with senior citizens. Snacks are being generously provided by the community center. 11:00 am: Return to school / chance / report to 5th period. We are so proud of the Southside Wind Ensemble for performing at AMEA this year! To help us commemorate this event, we have a special tee shirt avaliale. Anyone is welcome to purchase. Both long and short sleeves are avlaible, orders are due March 1st.. Please download and print the order form below.
