World's Finest Chocolate Sale
To the Members & Parents of “The PRIDE”,
Big news folks! Beginning this Wednesday, October 19, our “The PRIDE” will begin our Chocolate Sale!! Our band will sell World's Finest Chocolate bars for $1 each. Students will be able to raise money for their membership fees AND help the band raise funds toward our new uniforms!
This is one of the EASIEST fundraisers ever, because everybody loves chocolate and everybody has a dollar to spare. Students will receive $20 credit for every box he or she sells, to be applied toward band fees.
(Any amount raised past the payment of an individual’s band fees will be used to help with the purchase of our new uniforms.)
There are also some AMAZING prizes for the top-selling students!
Each band student will be issued one variety box of 60 bars, which include flavors such as: caramel, almond, crispy, milk, and dark chocolate. Feel free to take these to your work places or sign out more than one box at a time.
Please keep in mind that for each box your child signs out, whether its sold, eaten, or used as stocking stuffers, $60 must be returned to the PMA by November 2nd.
(We cannot return leftover chocolate)
Please let us know if you have any questions and enjoy the sale!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS & INFORMATION
Hello PRIDE!
Please read all of the information below about many upcoming events that involve us all!
Band Fees: This is a friendly reminder that all high school band fees are now due. Please check Charms as soon as possible to see your child’s current balance. Currently, between both the middle school and high school, our program is due approximately $30,000 in unpaid band fees. Please understand that these fees are crucial to our operations throughout the year and ensure that your child receives the highest quality of music education and resources we can offer.
Fundraising Campaign for New Uniforms: As many of you know, we are in the process of fundraising for new uniforms for “The PRIDE”. We have set a high goal and need your help to secure this major purchase for our students. We have several upcoming fundraising events planned for the near future. Please help us spread the word and raise some money!
- Chocolate Sale: Our Chocolate Sale will run from October 18th-Novemeber 3rd. Students will be able to earn money toward their band fees; however, we strongly urge each student to surpass just their band fee balance and raise money for our new uniforms. Our goal is to make $12,000. We can do it!
- Amazon Associates: The PMA is registered as an Amazon Associate. This means that for every order purchased through our link on our website, the PMA will make up to 10% of the total spent. With the holiday season right around the corner, we strongly encourage everyone to share this information with your family and friends. Every little bit will help us reach our goal. The Amazon Associates link may be found at: http://www.shs-band.com
- Road Block: The PMA will be setting up a road block on Highway 77 on October 29th in the morning to get our community more involved with raising money for our new uniforms. If you are able to volunteer on the morning of the 29th, please contact Andrea Brown.
- Local Businesses: For any of our parents who are close to local businesses, we encourage you to reach out and ask for donations for our uniforms. All donations are tax deductible! We will soon be sending letters out across the state with this information, but our success will be higher coming from a more personable source!
PMA Meeting: Our next PRIDE Music Association meeting will be this coming Monday, October 17th at 7 p.m. Please make plans to be there, so you can stay up to date!
Concert Band Rehearsals: Our Fall Concert is on November 1st at 6:30 p.m.! We will be having after school rehearsal for all students in the Symphonic Band on October 17th and October 24th from 3-5 and Wind Ensemble October 19th from 3-4:30 and October 25th from 3-5. Please continue to check our online calendar for all upcoming events and rehearsals. This calendar can be found at: http://www.shs-band.com/calendar.html
Concert Attire: We are currently in the process of ordering concert attire for our students who are new to the high school or may have needed a new set. Fees for this attire are due by November 1st. The concert attire fee for dresses is $60 and for tuxes is $120.

Dear PRIDE,
As I sat down this morning to reflect on yesterday’s performance I became overwhelmed and immediately wished that the entire band could somehow cram into our living room for coffee. There are so many things that I would like to say, but I’ll start with this: I have NEVER been more proud of this band! This year and marching season has been a joy and a blessing for me personally. Every rehearsal, every class period, every game day and performance “The PRIDE” has earned its name.
Our band knows the value of hard work, dedication, sacrifice and commitment. We have watched you grow as musicians, as leaders and as people. When I think about the young adults that our members are becoming I am filled with encouragement and hope for our future! There is something very special about this band. We all say it’s a family, and that’s because it is. Most of you will not pursue a career in music, but the memories & life lessons that you have learned as a member of The PRIDE will always be with you.
To all of our staff, boosters and parents: thank you for your commitment to this very special program!
It’s a true joy to watch you perform every week! Your shows have an incredible amount of energy and heart to them and the crowd LOVES you. Keep having fun and keep being entertaining! Congratulations on a job well done!
Go PRIDE GO!!
Sincerely, one very proud band director
Mr. Weaver
