BAND SCHEDULE – WEEK OF:  March 6th, 2017

*Very quick, marching band rehearsal 3-4pm.  (Prep for Recruitment Concert)
 
We apologize for calling this rehearsal on such short notice.  Due to scheduling constraints, our recruitment event has been moved much earlier than in years past.  We appreciate your flexibility and we understand that some members may not be able to attend. 
 
WED 3/8
5th Grade Recruitment Concert – SHS 12:30pm
 
*Students need to bring their marching equipment and attire to school on Wednesday.  Students will be dismissed to the band room following lunch, and will hold a brief performance for our 5th grade students as part of “The PRIDE”’s annual recruitment event.

District II Honor Band / JSU Honor Band applications due

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

1. Bed Sheet Fundraiser:  All sheet orders are now due.  Any remaining orders should be turned in ASAP!

 

1. Practice Records:  Practice records are due Monday each week for all Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble members.  Symphonic Band records should be turned into Mrs. Palmer; Wind Ensemble records should be turned into Mr. Weaver.  

 

1. Drum Major Auditions: Drum Major auditions are right around the corner! Drum major camp will be from 7-7:30 a.m. on March 14,15, and 16. Prelims are March 21st  from 3:15-5 and Finals are March 22nd  from 3:15-5.  Information packets for all interested in auditioning will be distributed tomorrow!  All band students need to be present for Drum Major finals on March 22nd as the finalists will be conducting the live ensemble on Movement 4 of last year’s show, “Anchors Away”!

 

1. JSU Honor Band:  Applications and payment for the 2017 JSU Honor Band are due March 10th.  Students must register and pay online this year.  Information can be found at: www.jsuhonorband.com
