Fall 2020 AU Woodwind Day We are excited to host this virtual event full of all things woodwind! From the comfort of your own home, you will be able to connect and interact with master artist-teachers, AU music students, and other woodwind enthusiasts from near and far. The event is open to all ages and all ability levels. It is our pleasure to say that we are hosting the 2020 AU Woodwind Day for FREE! This year has been full of many hardships and uncertainty, and though this is a small gesture, we want to open our virtual doors to as many people as possible free of charge. EVENT DETAILS: Saturday, November 14, 2020 1:00 - 5:00 CST Via Zoom (link will be sent to registrants) Sessions will include:
All registrants will attend instrument-specific master classes. During the classes, attendees will be able to watch and learn from the artist-teachers as they work with select performers and address the attendees. If you would like to be selected as a performer for any of the master classes, send the link of an unlisted Youtube video to woodwinds@auburn.edu (or, email the video file directly to us). Videos must be received by November 7 and should contain the following: 1. Chromatic scale from your lowest to highest note (tongued ascending, slurred descending) 2. Two brief contrasting pieces of your choice. The music can be from etudes, solos, or ensemble music. Each recorded piece should be 5 minutes or less (you can play a section of a piece if the complete piece is longer than 5 minutes). You will be notified by email if you have been selected to be a performer in a master class.
