Greetings and Salutations Good People!
My name is Charles Brooks. I teach in the department of entertainment industry at the University of North AL. I am the faculty advisor for Phi Mu Alpha and Music and Entertainment Student Association. Our student groups and department would like to cordially invite you to celebrate 50 years of excellence at UNA. The department of Entertainment has been in operation since 1973 as "commercial music" and now as a freestanding department since 2006 totaling 50 years of our students successfully navigating the music and entrainment business. I am contacting you today to inform you and your students of a great opportunity here at our prestigious institution. April 22-24, we will hold the first annual Mane Room Music Festival live from our venue the Mane Room. This celebration will consist of three nights that you and your students along with their families can experience for free!

Night 1- Sound of the Town Songwriting competition where we host up and coming high school musicians who are writing songs and wish to showcase their talent. There will be two physical judges to give constructive feedback, and the third judge will be determined by popular vote via a QR code the audience uses to cast their vote. The winner will receive a free songwriting lesson with grammy award winning songwriter and owner of Single Lock records Mr. John Paul White. Second and third place prizes to be determined

Night 2 - Battle of the Bands competition in which we host high school bands of any genre to come and showcase their talent on our stage. This competition will be totally popularity based using a separate QR code for the audience to cast their votes on which band rocked the hardest. The band with the most votes will earn a four-hour time block in our professional recording studio called "the Noise Block". The band will get as much music that can be captured in a four-hour slot to produce a professional quality demo of their work they can use to promote themselves.

Night 3 - Muscle Shoals Song Review featuring the Midnighters. The Midnighters are an iconic Muscle Shoals rock band headlining festivals and shows across North AL. For more information about the Midnighters please click https://www.themidnighters.com/
The Midnighters
Established in 1985, The Midnights are a dynamic six-piece combo featuring original and cover Soul, Rock and Blues music. The Midnighters have performed with notable artists like Delbert McClinton, Marc Broudssard, Latimore, John Anderson, Bobby Lewis, Shirley Brown, T. Graham Brown, Otis Day & The Knights, Percy Sledge, The Temptations and more.

All competition entries are open and free to high school students. To enter Sound of the Town email us at [email protected]; To enter your band in the Battle of the bands email us at [email protected] in the event we receive too many entries for our shows we will use a blind audition method and call for recordings to determine who to invite to participate. For any direct questions please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. If you feel you received this message in error, please notify me and I will take you off the email list. If not, please also feel free to share this information with any high school music or fine arts teacher/organization not included. Have a great day.

Good morning,

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Ashley Evans, and I am the Auxiliaries Coordinator for the Auburn University Marching Band. I am writing to extend an invitation to you and your students regarding our 2025 Tiger Eyes Auditions. Our auxiliaries include danceline, flagline, and majorettes, all under the full visual ensemble named Tiger Eyes.

We would like to reach potential students who might be interested in auditioning and wanted to offer you the opportunity to pass along this information. For your convenience, I have attached a PDF file with the audition dates and website for audition details so that you can easily print and hang this information in your band room or pass it along to anyone who may be interested.

The 2025 Tiger Eyes Auditions Auditions will be held at the following times, which are subject to change based on the number of applicants:
  • Friday, March 21
    • Majorettes (4:00 p.m.)
      • Check-in opens at 3:00 p.m. & closes at 3:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 22
    • Danceline (8:00 a.m.)
      • Check-in opens at 7:00 a.m. & closes at 7:30 p.m.
    • Flagline (1:00 p.m.)
      • Check-in opens at 12:00 p.m. & closes at 12:30 p.m.

If you have a student who is interested in auditioning, they are welcome to email me at [email protected] should they have any questions.

Our deadline for audition applications, paperwork, and fees is March 7, 2025. This includes a character evaluation submitted on their behalf from their band director. That request is sent to the director automatically from our system once their application is submitted. Because of this, we encourage students to submit their applications as soon as they can in order to allow adequate time for their director to submit a character evaluation on the student's behalf.

Additionally, our solo portion of auditions is open to the public, so we invite everyone to join us for that portion to view this year's candidate solos!

Updated information and more details on the audition guidelines, format, attire, solo times, and more can be found here: http://aub.ie/TEauditions

Thank you for your time, and I hope this information is of interest to you. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me!

Sincerely,

Ashley Evans

The Etowah Youth Orchestras is currently recruiting for several openings in our Youth Symphony Orchestra. We have 1 remaining concert for the season on Saturday, May 10th which will feature music from Holst, Vaughn-Williams, Copland, Grieg and contemporary composers like James Horner and Stella Sung .
Our ensemble meets on Monday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 PM in Downtown Gadsden.

We have openings in the EYSO for the following instruments:
Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, French Horn, Trombone or Euphonium, Percussion, Piano and all orchestral strings.

Auditions are being held by appointment through February 17th. If you have exceptional students who you think would benefit from playing more music, please share this email. Information about auditions including online registration, the prepared piece, required scales, and sight-reading parameters can be found on our website: https://culturalarts.com/audition-for-the-eyo/

There is no cost to audition for our ensemble. Scholarships and financial assistance are available for both membership fees and private lessons through the Gadsden Community School for the Arts.

If you have questions about EYO, or the audition process, please let me know. You are welcome to forward this email to your students or direct them to my contact information below. I would also be more than happy to visit your students at school to talk about the musical opportunities of the EYO and our audition process.

Thank you for help!
